Welcome to The Musiclab – progressive
and innovative music tuition specialists based in Hoddesdon, Herts.
Now approaching our 5th year, The Musiclab teaches
both adult and junior students how to play the electric guitar, bass,
drums and keyboards in weekly 50 minute group sessions at our professionally
equipped studios.
Our group sessions have a maximum
of 4 students per class - we believe that any more
than this is just too many!
To enable us to provide each and every student with
quality tuition, we monitor our classes closely to ensure that each
and every student is in the right class for their ability.
Our experienced and professional tutors are CRB approved
and have years of teaching experience along with a very high level
of experience drawn from their work in the music industry both in the
UK and Europe and the USA.
Our tuition style is very much geared towards developing
the student's creative side. Classes are social and fun and designed
to not only develop the student's skills on their chosen instrument,
but to nurture self-confidence and to encourage interaction with other
students and to build self-confidence.
Grade tuition is also available if requested and although
we do value the benefit of working through grade material, we do not
insist that this is the only way to learn. Although
it is much easier to teach this way, we believe that forcing students
to work towards an exam can be counter-productive in most cases, particularly
at the early stages of a student's career.
Regular student performances for both adult and junior
students help provide motivation and goals and the chance for family
and friends to come along and enjoy the student's progress! Many of
the performances feature guest bands and musicians who work with our
students and pass on the benefit of their skills and experience. (click

We also encourage our older, more experienced teenage
students to get involved and help the younger juniors. In fact, several
of our most talented teenage students have gradually developed into
teaching assistants who regularly join our tutors to help in class.
We love to work this way as it enables our students to interact with
someone a few years older than themselves who has developed their musical
skills and self-confidence to a high standard, providing a fine example
of what can be achieved.
Classes are run on evenings and weekends to avoid
clashing with school or work commitments. Each session is 50 minutes
in length and cost £13 per session (on a term basis). Term fees
can be paid in advance or on a monthly basis.
We also have a limited availability on 30 minute classes.
Designed for our younger students (aged 5 - 7), these classes also
run on a term basis and cost £8 per session. |
